Ain't gonna stop 'cause they tell me so

Cara felt relieved to talk to Amanda. Maybe they were friends after all. At least they had Jody in mind.

They had plans to make a girls' night out, only Jody never had time for something like that.

"Then, just the two of us," Cara smirked as if she would love to make Jay squirm just a little.

"But first we need to help Jody settle into their new place," Amanda sounded happy about that.

"Sure," Cara nodded wishing she was a homebody. It wasn't like she and Kenny were a sure thing. Oh, he helped her out at work a lot, but he didn't seem to want to go anywhere with her after work lately.

"Look, maybe Kenny and I can come over some Friday night," Cara found herself inviting herself over to Amanda's. Of course, Jay would be there, but she thought it was best if he met Kenny. Yes, she needed for him to know that she had Kenny in her life. Although, he was more like a stray kitten that didn't always purr nor wanted to be caught half the time. But still..she knew a guy and his name was Kenny and she was gonna bring him over or else.

"Kenny?" Amanda had looked at her out of the corner of her eye that day. "I've never met a Kenny."

"Well, now's your lucky chance. I've been seeing him...." She made it sound like it was gold. As if it had been a solid six months of heaven when in fact it was more like two weeks, but still she knew him. They worked together.

She and Amanda ate a late lunch together and Amanda gave her a free soda so it was well worth it. They talked about how they'd both had their first job at that sandwich place.

"I used to get so sick of these sub sandwiches," Cara laughed.

"Yeah, I said I would never eat another one," Amanda said she remembered reeking of onions and pickles.

Just the thought of making sandwiches made her tired, but the place seemed rather empty now. She told her they were getting rid of their ice cream bar.

"Really? When did that happen?" Amanda looked sad about that. She remembered the chocolate shakes and the banana splits. "They just don't make them like they use to."

"Yeah, I think I've lost my taste buds." But of course, Cara was a smoker (something she and Jay used to a lot of and it wasn't always nicotine). That might have had something to do with it. Anyway, it was good to have someone to talk to.

Cara was pretty sure Jay would hate the idea of Amanda talking to her, but she thought it was about time.

  2. Cara's description of Kenny is amusing: "Although, he was more like a stray kitten that didn't always purr nor wanted to be caught half the time." It certainly seems to fit their dynamic! I hope that all the drama with Jay gets resolved so that Jody and Aaron can settle in. ๐Ÿ˜
