is it really Christmas?

 Christmas was coming!

It had been a hell of a few days of bad weather as of late. Angel was now helping out at Visiting Angels with Amanda by manning the phones and other clerical matters. Suddenly, they were deep in the basement of the establishment waiting out a storm. Naturally, they wondered why they hadn't closed up sooner and headed home.

"Oh, it can't be that big of a deal,"  Angel did her best not to be overwhelmed. After all, they were prepared with flashlights, blankets, and water.

"But, I don't want this to be another Kentucky," Amanda was really distraught. She then told Angel how Jay didn't want to have anything to do with Christmas this year. She said a lot of her family was coming in.

"Well, then be with family." Angel looked at her as if she shouldn't wait on the boyfriend or was he really her husband, like he said? She knew they'd been long enough together to be a common-law couple.

"I'll be miserable," Amanda was sad about it as she hugged herself, sitting next to Angel. "That's what family does." She sighed. "I want Jay to be happy and I'll be happy with Jay."

"Right," that's when Angel told her she'd talked Jody in to not having the Christmas party at their place, but at Angel and Jared's. "That way everybody can come, even you." She shrugged. "We can have Christmas. My dad can come and that guy named Aaron."

"Aaron?" Amanda looked surprised. "What's up with that?"

"Oh," Angel sighed. "He's Jay and Jared's mom's best friend's son." she thought she got that right. "Somehow, my dad wants to take him under his wing. He believes he's a good writer." Angel looked over at Amanda. "Jared can hardly stand it, because..because I think he wants to be the writer that my dad helps." She shrugged. "Who knew?"

"I didn't even know Sal could write." Amanda looked at Angel surprised.

"Well, he hasn't even let me look at anything," Angel shook her head. "I thought he was just a bartender." Just when she was getting to know her dad, she found that she hardly knew who he really was.

  4. I love the idea of Sal mentoring Aaron in writing. Also, it's so nice that Amanda and Jay can spend Christmas with everyone at Angel and Jared's. I was sad to think of them being alone.

I'm very glad to hear that you came through the wind storm okay. Thank goodness for basements!
