Brother to brother

"What did you do?" Jay's question stung Jared who winced hard while on his Android phone. When did his brother ever call him?

"Not a thing," Jared was cool. He worked every day. He lived with Angel. His life was quite simple these days.

"Cara called me."

"Cara?" He winced even harder wondering what that was about. She never called them anymore.

"She says Jody wants to leave Andrew." Jay's moment of truth.

"ANDREW?" Jay sighed. He guessed his voice carried. Angel was off in the kitchen putting leftovers away.

"Yes, somebody told her to leave him. Was it you?" Jay wanted to know.

"No, why would I?" Why did his brother have to blame everything on him? Jay might have been shorter than him, but he was still his older brother. Actually, he'd been like a father to him, all these years.

"I'm sure it was you." Jay was adamant..as in he should fix this.

"I didn't. I swear. Why would I?" Jared paced thinking this wasn't fair. He was a working man. He had no time to talk to Jody about her love life.

"You don't want her to be happy do you?" His question hit a nerve.

"OK, I really don't like the guy, but..but he's really been good to her. I don't think he'd ever use her. I think he loves her...in his own way." Jared was certain Andrew knew a lot more about saving money than he ever would.

"Well, just tell her not to do anything stupid. I mean, she's been crazy about him for over five years. Remind her why she wants to marry him." Jay then said.

"I'll try." Jared nodded. He still hadn't told anyone about the baby. He wanted to, but he wouldn't until Angel let him.

  2. Just tell him the good news.
Why do we have to mind each other's business, sometimes I think of this.

  3. Angel should let him to talk about the baby. This is so important for both of them and baby.

    1. I am not too sure how much longer they can keep that a secret. Thanks!

  4. Drama, drama drama! The thing about Andrew knowing how to save money is an interesting detail. I especially like how you underscored it with "I'm stuck between "I need to save money" & "You only live once" ' against the backdrop of my sweater fabric! Also, I enjoyed this part: "Jay might have been shorter than him, but he was still his older brother." I can always count on you for funny! :)

    1. Thanks! Yes, that last part made me smile, too! I think we all have that underscore of people's secrets of saving money. Of course, Andrew comes from a unit family that these two don't. And I think deep down they want a better life for their little sister. Oh, & I LOVE the sweater fabric too!
