Nick felt bad trying to put Rex off on Jack.
Rex was bored as it was, and he knew Heath was not going to let up on Rex being there, but he had his actors workshop to keep him busy, and it was good to see him happy about that. He knew Heath missed the drama. Real drama. Not the family drama going on with Rex.
It seemed Rex had made things a tad worst when he told her he was there at Nick and Heath's since she'd wanted to take refuge there. Nick felt as if he were caught in the middle. He just didn't know what to do or say.
"You guys really have to work this out." Nick sounded like a recording now because he knew Kelsey was making this hard on Rex, but then it was Rex who had been so negative early on with her so why was he expecting her forgiveness now. "It might not ever be a real family, but you two could at least be civil. You have to. Especially, once that baby is born."
Still, Rex was being awful quiet. He'd never seen Rex quiet like that. He always had a comeback before, but now, he'd go to that guestroom of theirs and not come out what seemed for days. Nick had to wonder if he were really trying to look for a job. Or was he just playing internet poker.
