just another day

"So how was your visit with your parents?" Maria wanted to know the next day at school. There was just a cold wind out that kept everyone in.

"Busy." Heath decided to say. "I can't wait to get home and sleep." He wanted to make sure his words were proper enough. Even so, he looked around in the hallway to see who was listening. Suddenly, he felt he might go crazy with all this worry. Why did he feel so stiffled? Would he always be this worried when teaching?

"How about you? What have you been up too?" Always good to change the subject. He smiled. Then he noticed some girl with thick glasses smiling at him as if it were contagious. He looked at Maria. Looked back at the girl. He lost his smile. He supposed that would mean something to somone too.

"Fine. You know, lesson plans. That kind of thing." She kept it short. She said no more. Heath had to wonder if she was worried people were thinking they were seeing each other, too. He supposed they'd have to do things in great numbers around here.

Well, it was time to go to show choir, and he couldn't wait to bring up some new tunes for the class to think about for the competition.

I wish he didn't have to worry like that.

I would feel helpless with show choir.

I hope Heath's worry-ness levels go down sooner or later D:

I guess in a place like that you would wonder who was watching you. But I know a lot of teachers who could care less.

I'm really hoping Maria will help him.
